“A Nickle” – Original Song Lyrics/Poetry by Paul Britton

A nickel is holding up a dollar.
Making me feel like I can’t carry on.
There’s another rock flying towards my head.
I can’t tell where I gone wrong.
A nickel is holding up a dollar.
Nothing but pain all thru the night.
How can I put up with it forever more.
Sailing or flying try as I might
Br
Yeah yeah, crying and laughing.
Yeah yeah sang the ferryman.
Yeah yeah crying and laughing.
Yeah yeah sang the ferryman.
A nickel is holding up a dollar.
Something tells me it’s up and it’s down.
How can time beckon like lights in the fog.
Working dogs lie in a different town.
A nickel is holding up a dollar.
You lie down with dogs you get up with fleas.
Nothing seems real when I open my eyes.
I try to be polite I always say please

VULTURES

The vultures are circling
Flying round and around
The past is the past now
They’re getting close to the ground

The vultures are circling
But try not to care
There’s a life if you want it
See that light over there

Ch
And life, if you want it
Means more than the gold
Cos life don’t mean nothing
If you don’t wanna grow old

The vultures are circling
What more can you do
Life is for living
More than me more than you

The vultures are circling
Take a lucky shot
Will your life have meaning
When you get to the top
